If this report from a Korean publication is to be believed, hell has frozen over and Intel has tapped a third-party foundry to manufacture a portion of its bread and butter CPUs. To clarify, Intel has previously tapped TSMC to fabricate non-essential chips like the northbridge but has always created its core processors in-house. if this report is true then we are looking at the first time in history that Intel has tapped a third-party foundry to manufacture its CPUs.
