The European Commission’s incoming president Ursula von der Leyen has promised to introduce legislation governing artificial intelligence during the first 100 days of her premiership.

The commission chief set out her plans in a speech on Wednesday after the European Parliament approved her and her cabinet’s appointment earlier in the day.
