One of my favorite phones of all time was the Motorola StarTAC. It was a tiny clam shell feature phone that was rugged, simple and my only source of light during the Northeast Blackout of 2003. I miss that phone and, to be honest, miss the old Motorola.

Like so many big mobile brands, Motorola stumbled and struggled mightily in the mid Oughts; initially dazzling with phones like the Razr, but ultimately falling behind Apple and Android competitor Samsung.
