Democrats in the Senate introduced legislation ahead of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's testimony on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
Sens. Edward Markey of Mass. and Richard Blumenthal of Conn. introduced a "privacy bill of rights" Tuesday that they claim will protect personal information of American consumers. The so-called CONSENT(Customer Online Notification for Stopping Edge-provider Network Transgressions) Act would require the Federal Trade Commission to establish privacy protections for people who use online platforms, like Facebook and Google.
