AT&T and the Justice Department are expected to clash in federal court Thursday as the two sides begin oral arguments in a landmark antitrust trial over Time Warner — the first such court case since the Nixon administration.

Government lawyers will argue that AT&T's attempted purchase of Time Warner for $85 billion will raise the price of TV service in America and threaten competition. Arguing for DOJ is Craig Conrath, a longtime agency attorney.
