Markets managed to deny another sell-off even after President Donald Trump went after e-commerce giant Amazon for the fourth time in a week, closely followed trader Art Cashin told CNBC on Tuesday.

Stocks briefly fell early in the day after Trump took to Twitter to reinforce his assessment that Amazon's business is costing taxpayers "many billions of dollars" through subsidized rates by the United States Postal Service. The S&P 500 initially fell after the tweet before rebounding.
