Apple is reportedly planning to replace Intel chips with its own processors in future generations of Mac computers.

The move would represent a major knock to the US chipmaker, which depends on Apple for around five per cent of its annual turnover. Intel’s shares fell 9 per cent on Monday after Bloomberg broke the news.
