On May 2, 2017, Microsoft officially revealed the long-rumored Windows 10 S. Since then, the thin client version of the ever-popular Windows 10 home computing operating system has been met with mixed reception as a result of the limitations it imposes on those looking to use traditional legacy programs not acquirable through the proprietary Windows Store.
Instead of letting you download and install any program you want to, as the traditional Microsoft Windows ecosystem allows, Windows 10 S would instead restrict users to applications found in the Windows 10 Store. Regardless of the obvious security benefits this approach brings, PC users aren’t exactly sold on the idea.
