Most Lyft, Uber drivers earn less than minimum wage, MIT paper says

Ride-hailing services are great. It represents a relatively cheap way for people to get around in places where maybe public transit isn't an option, or where taxis are unreliable. The thing is, the situation may not be all that rosy for the drivers, with the majority of them earning less than the federal minimum wage, and as much as a third of drivers actually losing money.
Uber has only recently allowed its drivers to accept tips to supplement their earnings.
