AMD stock fell as much as 7 percent but then rebounded after hours on Tuesday after the company reported better-than-expected earnings for the fourth quarter of 2017. The company will hold a conference call with analysts at 5 p.m. Eastern time.

With respect to guidance, AMD said in a statement that it's expecting a 32 percent increase in revenue based on new accounting standards. Analysts were expecting an increase of 26.8 percent for the first quarter, according to Thomson Reuters.
