Sony’s four flagships – the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact, XZ Premium, and Xperia XZs come with rear cameras that feature wider lenses than other smartphones. While this can be a boon when taking wide angle shots, it also leads to visible perspective distortion on some pictures. Many users have been complaining about the visible distortions on the new Xperia cameras. Sony has been paying attention to the problem and has finally pushed an update to fix it.

The software update includes a “Correction for image distortion” option that’s a part of the camera settings. Users can enable this option to get rid of distortions. It is included in the Oreo update that recently started rolling out to Xperia XZ Premium. The Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact already run oreo so they will receive the update for fixing the camera issue by the end of November. As for Xperia XZs, it will get the fix whenever it receives the Oreo update.
