Databricks has remained a hot startup at a time when interest from investors has cooled across the ecosystem. Just last month the company raised $500 million at an eye-popping $43 billion valuation. That would be big money anytime, but especially in the current fund raising climate.

With that kind of dough in its coffers, the company went shopping this morning and bought data replication startup Arcion for $100 million.
