Motorola used to enjoy a good reputation when it came to delivering timely updates to Android devices. The company has boasted a clean track record for rolling out updates right after Google. However, things started changing after its acquisition by Lenovo. At this point, no one can guarantee whether your Motorola device will get next update or not.

In one of the latest moves that confirm company’s lack of diligence for rolling out updates, Moto G4 lineup has been denied Oreo update. Motorola recently published a list of devices that will get Android 8.0 Oreo update, and the Moto G4 family is missing from that list. Many other devices are missing too, but the absence of Moto G4 is shocking as it was launched just a year ago. It bugs us even more as the phones were marketed with the promise of two major updates – Nougat and Oreo.
