AMD (NASDAQ:AMD), the Santa Clara-based semiconductor company, just announced its earnings for the first quarter of 2022, easily exceeding the consensus expectations from analysts.

For the three months ended on the 31st of March 2022, AMD has reported a record-high non-GAAP revenue of $5.887 billion, corresponding to a year-over-year increase of 71 percent. Excluding the contribution from Xilinx, AMD earned $5.3 billion in revenue during the quarter.
