With its glass back and aluminum chassis, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus finally get support for wireless charging but that also means Apple gets to cash in on your mishaps. Where the tech giant was charging you a measly $29 for replacing a damaged display, it will be charging you a jaw-dropping price for changing the glass back.

After speaking to the company’s employees, AppleInsider has found out that replacing the back-glass will not qualify for a $29 screen replacement. Instead, it will be subjected to a $99 ‘other damage’ fee, plus tax. This is possibly due to the difficult procedure of incorporating the glass at the back side of the phone. According to the iPhone 8 teardown, the glass back is in position thanks to a large amount of glue that is meticulously applied and is essentially fused into the case assembly.
