A motorist arrested in Oakland, California, for riding in the backseat of Tesla while the vehicle was set to Autopilot told reporters that he would continue to do so after being released from Alameda County's Tanta Rita Jail on Tuesday, the Associated Press reported.

Param Sharma, 25, was charged with reckless driving and disobeying a peace officer, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol. Sharma told KTVU that he does not believe it's dangerous to ride in the backseat of a Tesla set to Autopilot.
