NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock indexes are edging lower in Tuesday morning trading as another swell higher for Treasury yields adds pressure on big technology stocks.

The S&P 500 was down 0.2%, a day after slipping from its record high, even though the majority of stocks in the index were rising. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 51 points from its all-time high set a day before, or 0.2%, to 33,120, as of 10:45 a.m. Eastern time. The Nasdaq composite was lagging with a 0.4% drop because of its heavier concentration of tech stocks.
