Google announced on Thursday that it would postpone its deadline to remove user-tracking third-party cookies on Chrome until late 2023, far later than its initial plan of January 2022.

Though Google planned to phase out the technology on its web browser that tracks users to give them targeted and relevant ads, the company said it still needs more time to develop a replacement system, the Associated Press reported.
