Omicron As the COVID-19 pandemic approaches the two-year mark, more at-home testing options are finally becoming available to Americans. The latest testing product comes from Detect, which has been authorized for emergency use by the FDA. It advertises PCR-quality test results with a 97.3-percent accuracy and no false positives. Detect also states that its test can recognize the omicron and delta variants of COVID. Best of all, these COVID-19 tests do not cost wildly more than the less accurate antigen test.
This all sounds promising. Testing yourself or your family right before heading out to a gathering of people is one way to be certain that you're not spreading the virus. While I'm not here to validate Detect's testing claims, I did try it out to see what it's like and what you can expect from it.
