CES 2020 was host to a lot of crazy gizmos. Given the scale of the event, it is easy to lose track of some of the less-hyped products. For example, Samsung quietly demonstrated its first-ever rollable smartphone at the conference. No, it cannot be rolled up into a cylinder, so swatting flies is not really an option. We've seen rollable OLED displays out in the wild, but this is the first time the concept is implemented on a smartphone. Let's take a look at how it works.

The images come via the Dutch website Letsgodigital. The illustration shows little in the way of how the mechanism works, but based on the description, one has to press a button that 'extends' the 6-inch smartphone display into an 8-inch screen. LG's take on a rollable smartphone is far more descriptive and explains the concept a lot better. Let's take a look at it.
