NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are opening higher on Wall Street as traders return from the Christmas holiday. Amazon and other retailers are rising as a report shows a last-minute surge in online shopping helped holiday sales. Technology stocks were also among the early gainers. The S&P 500 index rose 0.2% to 3,231, and is on track for its biggest annual gain since 2013. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 49 points, or 0.2%, to 28,564. The Nasdaq added 24 points, or 0.3%, to 8.977. Overseas, Chinese markets surged due to big gains in property stocks.
