In late October, it was reported that Samsung had commenced development work on One UI 2.1 tailored for the 5G-ready versions of the Galaxy S11 family. However, Samsung will also need to sell the non-5G variants in markets where the next-generation network is yet to roll out or will take several years to, and according to the latest development, software work for the Galaxy S11 LTE models has kicked off too.
Last month, the company was said to be working on the firmware of 5G variants of the Galaxy S11e, Galaxy S11, and Galaxy S11 Plus. An update to that news is that the firmware development of the Galaxy S11 LTE models has started, but with a small change to the mix. Samsung is reportedly working on tweaking the software for only the Galaxy S11e and Galaxy S11, suggesting that the bigger Galaxy S11 Plus not will not be offered in an LTE variant.
