The smartphone market’s growth and maturity has led to components being easily available for manufacturers unwilling to solely cater to the high-end market. Today we’ve got a new mid-range smartphone from Chinese company Oppo that promises to deliver great performance at a budget. The Oppo A9 2020 is official and makes several changes over its predecessor, the standard A9. Take a look below for the details.

Right off of the bat, we’ll start with the A9 2020’s processor. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s freshly launched Snapdragon 665 SoC. This chip features four Kryo 260 Gold and four Kryo 260 Silver cores. The Gold cores are a derivative of ARM’s Cortex A73 design, debuted by the company two years back in 2016. At the time, the A73 was the first to feature ARM’s brand new Cambridge microarchitecture family of chips, the designs of which originated in the city of Sophia-Antipolis, France.
