Last year introduced a bizarre string of events as far as Apple’s iPhone naming habits are concerned. While the iPhone XR is a model name that wouldn’t bother us too much, the iPhone XS Max might be a mouthful for a lot of people, irrespective of its humongous size and the benefits it brings with that size. This year, according to a tipster, Apple could tone things down a bit, introducing the iPhone Pro name to its product range to make it less confusing.

CoinX, who was right on the money when it came to the names of the 2018 iPhone models, states in a tweet that Apple might introduce the ‘Pro’ moniker in this year’s lineup. The tipster hasn’t provided any reasoning for this, but one thought rattling our brain is that the company might make this move to simplify the names of its 2019 iPhone range and possibly future models. We also think that the iPhone 11R’s name will remain unchanged since it will be offered as a cheaper version of the two premium devices and hence, might not hold that ‘Pro’ status.
