Vodafone Italy discovered security vulnerabilities in products it bought from Huawei in 2011 and 2012, according to a damning Bloomberg report which is likely to invite further scrutiny of the Chinese tech giant.
Bloomberg claimed the flaws could have provided Huawei with unauthorised access to a system supplying internet to millions of Italians, but Vodafone denies this and says the issue was addressed quickly and did not lead to loss of customer data.
