It’s been quite a week for space news. Wednesday saw the first photo ever taken of a black hole and on Thursday the first ever private robotic spacecraft was expected to land on the moon. A successful landing will make Israel the fourth country to successfully land on the moon.

The Beresheet spacecraft from Israeli company SpaceIL was on track for landing Thursday afternoon Eastern Time, nighttime in Israel. The craft launched nearly two months ago on its mission to the Moon with the help of SpaceX and one of its Falcon 9 rockets. The launch was the 70th successful launch for SpaceX. The goal is to place the lander in the Sea of Serenity on the moon, said NASA.
