"Many Star Wars fans, ourselves included, are really interested in the dark times, so we wanted to explore that mysterious, dangerous period," said Stig Asmussen, a game director at Respawn as part of the announcement.

The trailer also revealed the Second Sister, a member of the Inquisitors who are hunting the Jedi, as well as Purge Troopers who are loosely based on the Stormtroopers. Those troopers might look familiar to Star Wars comics fans, as their designs were first created by Respawn and shared with Marvel for inclusion.
