SINGAPORE (AP) — Shares rose in Asia on Wednesday ahead of the resumption of trade talks between the U.S. and China in Washington.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index advanced 1 percent to 21,713.21 and South Korea's Kospi added 1.2 percent to 2,203.27. The Shanghai Composite index rose 0.6 percent to 3,195.61. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rebounded 0.9 percent to 29,893.95.
