Update: On the eve of Force Friday II, an annual worldwide shopping event that unleashes a slew of new Star Wars toys to the masses, Sphero has unveiled a completely new character that will be featured in Star Wars Episode 8 - The Last Jedi: BB-9E, a First Order-variation of the lovable rolling droid we met in The Force Awakens.

While we know about the existence of the new droid (and have gotten to play around with him ourselves in a hands on demo), we couldn't find anyone willing to divulge too much about the character's origins or role in the upcoming film.
