During a live stream held last week, MSI showed the capabilities of its B460 & H410 motherboards using power limit overclocking on Intel's 10th Gen Comet Lake CPUs. MSI compared the overall performance of Core i9-10900 using a stock Intel provided configuration and one with their own enhanced (PL Overclock) settings.
The performance tests and comparisons were demonstrated on an MSI B460M Mortar which is an entry-level motherboard that will cost around $100 US. MSI demonstrated that you can still achieve some great performance boost using entry-level motherboards with a non-K chip. The CPU used is technically a Core i9-10900K which has been tweaked to operate as Core i9-10900. The reason MSI explains for doing this simulated run rather than using an actual Core i9-10900 was simply that they didn't have 2 Core i9-10900 CPUs available at the time of testing but they did have two Core i9-10900K CPUs available.
