Google and Apple have clarified that governments won’t be able to legally mandate the use of the bluetooth coronavirus tracking technology the two companies are partnering on.
On Friday, Google and Apple announced a joint effort to create bluetooth technology suitable for both Android and Apple phones that is designed to help governments around the world tackle the spread of Covid-19. The system will use Bluetooth technology to alert those who download the app if they’ve been in prolonged proximity to someone who has the virus.
