The year hasn’t been a particularly good one for the world’s largest telecommunication equipment manufacturer. Lots of countries are on the verge of boycotting their equipment owing to accusations of state-backed espionage. Only time will tell if those accusations are correct, but things are looking grim at the moment. Despite all the controversy, one cannot deny that Huawei still makes excellent devices. The company’s Android Pie rollout schedule is more or less on par, with devices such as the Mate 10 already running Android Pie. Today, owners of the Huawei P20, P20 Pro and Mate 10 Pro will be pleased to know that the update is now rolling out in Europe.

Huawei’s in-house Android Fork aka EMUI is easily one of the most heavily customised builds out there. Although it comes with a metric ton of bloatware, it is host to a lot of useful features. Its latest version—EMUI 9.0—is based on Android Pie and brings it with several optimisations along with the usual Pie goodies such as App Actions, Slices, Navigation Gestures, etc.
