Much to everyone’s surprise, Samsung started rolling out the Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus today. Initially, the OneUI-based Android Pie build was expected to hit the airwaves sometime in January. Now that the Galaxy S9+ and S9 Plus are out of the way lets take a look at some other devices and when they’ll receive the highly-anticipated update. Samsung posted a detailed roadmap on the Samsung Members app today that shed some light on which devices are eligible for the upgrade and when they’ll receive it.

The January 2019 date for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus might seem odd at first, for obvious reasons. It could be when carrier-locked variants of the devices get their update. As expected, the Galaxy Note 9 is first in line followed by last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Initially, it was speculated that the Galaxy Note 9 would receive Pie alongside the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, but it looks like Samsung moved up the date by a little.
