Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) yesterday posted somewhat mixed financial results for 3Q 2018. The Santa Clara, California-based company did manage to meet Wall Street’s expectations for earnings, but it disappointed with a miss on revenue, citing weak crypto demand, as well as poor guidance for the upcoming fourth quarter.
AMD stock plummeted by as much as 20 percent in after-hours trading on Wednesday, and shares have recovered a bit as of midday Thursday. Prices have settled around $19.50 which puts the stock down by over 30 percent from a month ago when shares were north of $32.
