PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded Philadelphia a $1.25 million grant to fund solar training education programs.

The Philadelphia Energy Authority announced it will work with the School District of Philadelphia to develop a three-year curriculum to train students for careers in the clean-energy sector. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the award from the Solar Energy Technologies Office on Friday is part of the Trump administration's planned $53 million for new projects to advance solar technology.
