Epic Games has released a new state of development blog post with fresh details about Fortnite Save the World and Battle Royale. Fans have been waiting for the PVE zombie-crunching game mode attached to the wildly successful battle royale to finally go free-to-play. Epic Games has promised that the mode will eventually be available to all players, whether or not they paid for a Founder’s Pack.

Fans are going to have to wait until 2019 for Save the World to go free-to-play. Epic said it is “working on a broad set of features, reworks, and backend system scaling we believe are needed to go free-to-play.” Having the mode come eventually is better than not at all. Logging in during the Fortnitemare event will grant you a Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez for Save the World.
