The dust is only just starting to settle after the bombshells of Monday’s Gamescom NVIDIA RTX 20 series announcement which has left us with more questions than answers. Namely how NVIDIA’s shiny new RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 & RTX 2070 do compared to their Pascal predecessors in good ol’ gaming performance.

Very much unlike the GTX 10 series Pascal launch event a couple of years back, which was chalk full of direct comparisons of the cards and their predecessors, NVIDIA bizarrely hadn’t touched on the performance aspect at all outside of ray tracing comparisons during Monday’s reveal. Throwing around a bunch of painfully incomprehensible GIGA ray & TIPS mumbo jumbo figures only seemed to add to the confusion.
