Democrats on Capitol Hill are demanding answers from the Federal Communications Commission's Chairman Ajit Pai after it was revealed that his agency falsely claimed it had been the victim of a cyberattack last year.

Last week, the office of the inspector general for the FCC concluded that the FCC was not a victim of a distributed denial service attack, also known as DDoS attack, in May of 2017, as the agency's chief information officer David Bray had claimed after the agency's online comment system went down for several hours during the height of the debate over the repeal of the popular 2015 net neutrality rules.
