Tesla CEO Elon Musk published a letter Tuesday detailing his rationale for taking the company private.

The letter was published to Tesla's website about two and a half hours after his tweet Tuesday afternoon that said he wants to take the company private at $420 per share. Musk's tweet said that he had secured the funding to take Tesla private, but his letter makes no mention of it. The letter also says "a final decision has not yet been made" whether or not to take Tesla private.
