Apple’s T1 custom chip was introduced with the 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. It ran a stripped-down version of iOS that carried operations to control the Touch Bar. With the iMac Pro debut last year, the T2 version was released. The second generation of the chip was far superior to the first generation that handled low-level system responsibilities which includes storage encryption, secure boot, and the always-on ‘Hey Siri’ command. Now the chip is causing Kernel Panic issue on some 2018 MacBook Pro. Let’s see some more details on it.
The T2 chip was incorporated in the latest 2018 MacBook Pro that provided the same functionality. As mentioned earlier, the T2 chip is also causing Kernal Panics in the new 2018 MacBook Pro. Owners of the iMac Pro have taken the issue to Apple support forums detailing that their system crashes randomly which leads to Kernel Panics. This means that a small number of 2018 MacBook Pro and iMac Pro owners are facing the issue.
