The New York State Public Service Commission voted on Friday to revoke its approval of the 2016 merger agreement between Charter Communications and Time Warner Cable, alleging that the cable company failed to meet obligations related to its build out of broadband in the state.

The commission also said it directed its counsel to file enforcement action with the State Supreme Court, seeking penalties for Charter's past past and ongoing failures.
