This is the latest instalment of an exclusive feature analysing the UK’s biggest public sector tech deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we drill down into the top five most valuable tenders and awards from the previous week, and take stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.

Transport for London issued the biggest tender of the week: a £71m contract to install a new CCTV system on the Piccadilly Line. The cameras will be introduced in time for the rollout of new trains as part of the “deep tube upgrade programme” in 2023. The public tender is light on detail, but similar systems are currently used by drivers on all lines other than the Piccadilly and Bakerloo to check the doors of the train before departure. The contract includes an option to extend the system to the Bakerloo line in due course.
