The iPhone X is one of the most expensive flagship devices of 2017 (not counting the devices that luxury brands release), starting at a price of $999 in the U.S. for the 64GB model. Clearly, Apple’s pricing strategy did not fail when it launched the flagship, because the iPhone X sold the most number of units during the first quarter of this year. However, how is it holding up in the secondary market? Turns out very well, and there are several reasons for that which we will dive into straight away.

According to B-Stock, the iPhone X is able to hold an average 85 percent of its resale value and it is able to do that thanks to the $999 price tag belonging to the 64GB storage model. Within six months after an iPhone launch, retailers and manufacturers can expect to sell that model at 60 to 70 percent of the original price, with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and iPhone 8 all achieved roughly 65 percent of retail value six months after launch across B-Stock’s network of mobile marketplaces.
