Tesla's future is a hotly debated topic. And even more so after Elon Musk's recent outbursts on Twitter and headlines that the electric car company is asking suppliers for refunds.

"Tesla's trying to solve an incredibly important goal for our society," said Ross Gerber, CEO of Gerber Kawasaki, on CNBC in early July. "It's not just about making money, which is important, and building cars. It's about creating an [electric vehicle] infrastructure and future for all transportation companies."
