This is the latest instalment of an exclusive feature analysing the UK’s biggest public sector tech deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we drill down into the top five most valuable tenders and awards from the previous week, and take stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.
The Cabinet Office’s latest tender represents one of the biggest IT frameworks ever established in the UK. Like the parallel G-Cloud framework, the framework for Data and Application Services lets a range of central government and public sector agencies buy solutions from a pre-approved list of suppliers. But unlike G-Cloud, each lot has just 20 places. This means suppliers will face less competition once they have been listed, but more competition to get listed in the first place. The application deadline is 6 August and the framework is due to go live in February next year.
