The wave of a new report claims believes Apple has informed Intel that its radio chips will not be required for the former’s iPhone lineup. However, this act is not going to be happy very early, allowing the processor manufacturer to strategize on what to do next. Apple might be making this move because, with 5G rollout expected to engulf the globe next year, the tech giant wants to be completely ready for the transition stage.

Apple was Intel’s main client for its combined Wi-Fi, 5G, and Bluetooth chips and after this notification, the chipmaker is expected to shelve the product and stop the development process. CTech has cited a myriad of sources and internal documents to validate these claims. As per the internal communication at Intel review by Calcalist and people privy to the matter, Intel will not supply 5G modem devices to Apple in 2020 for its iPhones.
