TSMC officially unveiled its 7nm FinFET node technology a while back, and as per the latest reports, the chip manufacturer has already secured orders from Apple for its upcoming A12 chipsets for the latest iPhone family. Looking at how Samsung just demonstrated its 7nm EUV technology yesterday, Qualcomm might also have ended up a customer of TSMC’s in the hopes of bringing its first ever 7nm chipset to the market as quickly as possible.

According to the rumors floating around, Qualcomm and TSMC may have teamed up to make 7nm chipsets. Qualcomm has allegedly chosen TSMC over Samsung, as the Korean giant was taking considerably longer to bring out its 7nm technology, though the EUV method brings a significant number of advantages to the table.
