The Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB RAM weren’t enough to topple the iPhone XS Max, Apple’s latest and greatest device. It would only be fitting for Apple’s biggest rival in the smartphone space, Samsung to come up with a competitor that would finally be able to best the flagship, even though Samsung took its sweet time. The latest speed test shows that the iPhone XS Max finally met its match, but the competition was always stiff.

PhoneBuff pitted the Galaxy S10 Plus and the iPhone XS Max in the latest speed test. The Galaxy S10 Plus model currently in possession of the YouTuber features 8GB of RAM, which is the same amount of memory found in the Note 9 of last year, which lost to the iPhone XS Max. This means that the upgraded Snapdragon 855 would have given the Galaxy S10 Plus an edge over the Snapdragon 845-fueled Galaxy Note 9. However, not everything was smooth sailing for Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship.
