For several days now, some users have been experiencing issues with Windows Updates. After multiple reports, it was finally identified last week that the issue was with ISPs and not at Microsoft’s end. In some cases, the problem was fixed by switching to Google’s public DNS. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that the problem occurred due to an issue with an external DNS service provider.
“The Windows Update service was impacted by a data corruption issue in an external DNS service provider global outage on January 29, 2019,” Microsoft has said in an update.
