Samsung started rolling Android 9 Pie out to most variants of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ across the globe this month. The only devices remaining are some global variants and carrier-locked phones in the. In a move that surprised us all, Xfinity started rolling out the Android Pie update for their Galaxy S9 and S9+ yesterday. Technically, Xfinity still uses Verizon’s infrastructure, but it’d be best not to get them mixed up. Verizon didn’t waste any time and is rolling out the much-awaited Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9++.
The update weighs in at a hefty 1.7GB has build number PPR1.180610.001.G960USQU3CSAB. It also has the January security patches along with Android Pie. The update should be available to all Galaxy S9 and S9+ users in the next few days. The changelog might seem a bit misleading at first as it only says “Security update and improvements”, but rest assured, it’s Android Pie. Head over to Settings>> Software Update>> Download Manually on your device to manually trigger the update if you haven’t received it yet.
